Why was ADVIN.org formed?
It is clearly unacceptable that thousands of Quebecers are infected in hospitals every year, especially when one considers that 50% of these infections could be easily prevented. Furthermore, it is unacceptable that far too many victims die or are forced to live with consequences of these infections. Nosocomial infections have a serious impact not only on the victims, but also on their families who are forced to take care for them.
You are not alone. ADVIN is there to support you and provide information.
ADVIN has absolutely no quarrel with doctors or health care workers. To the contrary, we have the utmost respect for the public health care system and intend to work in partnership with it in order to better protect patients.
