ANTIBACTERIAL UNIFORMS TO FIGHT HOSPITAL--ACQUIRED INFECTIONS

E-mail Print

Health care staff uniforms, particularly for the staff delivering  direct care to the patient, play an important role in the fight against hospital-acquired infections. In Quebec hospitals, it is  unfortunate to note that basic hygiene rules concerning uniforms are still not respected with all the required attention: doctors or nurses may be observed walking in the corridors still wearing their surgery ward uniforms, and it has been widely reported that the same staff wear their uniforms in and out of hospitals. A Quebeccompany, Protec-Style, may bring a solution to this problem by producing antibacterial uniforms.

Protec-Style, a company based in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, was awarded three prestigious prizes by the Quebec Entrepreneurship Contest.  Protect-Style has conceived, created and produced uniforms that are made of antibacterial material and designed by the internationaly well-known designer Jean-claude Poitras.
