Yes, they are avoidable and all the prevention and control measures are well known. Bu they need to be strictly and consistenly applied.
The fight againts HAI will be effective if is integrated into the hospitals management policies: It needs to become a corporate priority, accountability and leadership.
Yes, they are the responsabilty of the entire institution: not just the infection specialists. Public at large, patients, medical staff, hospital authorities, Ministry of Health and politician must be involved.
